About Dr. Ariel Blum

Dr. Ariel Blum is a licensed psychologist in New York and Connecticut with a PhD from Fordham University. She works with children, parents, and individuals in the perinatal (pregnancy and postpartum) period who are struggling with anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. Dr. Blum has expertise in child development and received specialized training in perinatal mental health. Dr. Blum cares deeply about fostering strong parent-child relationships and working with current and expectant parents who are managing the everyday stressors and adjustments to their parenting role.

Dr. Blum is certified in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) with trainings from the Seleni Institute, Postpartum Support International, and the Postpartum Stress Center.

Through her compassionate, sensitive, and warm demeanor, Dr. Blum aims to collaborate with you to provide the most comprehensive and effective treatment. She treats each case through a multicultural and social justice lens. She uses an evidence-based approach, pulling components from cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and attachment-based therapy.

Prior to her career in psychology, Dr. Blum worked as a Minerva Fellow where she taught at an NGO in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Blum serves on the Postpartum Support International (PSI) Connecticut board.
